We invited Reiko Sato, a chef living in Sicily, to

Cooking classes will be held.


The theme is "Monastery Table"


His book, "Italian Monastery Confectioneries," was just published in August.

You will be taught how to make dishes that would have been made in monasteries using vegetables, herbs, beans, etc., as well as monastery sweets.

We will prepare dishes for you using seasonal ingredients from Kumamoto.

Reiko Sato

Since 2005, he has lived in Sicily, a southern island in Italy.

Captivated by the powerful blessings of the earth and the beautiful natural scenery, he decided to remain in Sicily.

Currently, he is working in Trapani as the representative of "La Turbola Siciliana", which coordinates Sicilian gourmet tours while researching Sicilian food culture. In recent years, he has also been running an olive farm and working hard to produce olive oil, enjoying the bounty of the Sicilian land.

Her books include "The Most Delicious Home Cooking in Italy" (Kodansha), "Traditional Sicilian Sweets and Mamma's Homemade Sweets", "Illustrated Guide to Italian Sweets", and "Italian Monastery Sweets" (all published by Seibundo Shinkosha), and she also holds cooking classes and events all over Japan, spreading the charm of Sicily to Japan.
